It’s halfway through the week and you know what that means–the weekend is near-er, LOL!
Man, it’s been WEEKS since I’ve posted a blog. I’ve been going through a TON of change in my life: school, work, personal, relationships. I always thought of myself as a strong advocate of change, but I honestly haven’t handled these last couple of months well at all.
That being said, I took some time to really evaluate how to better handle those curveballs life throws at me in the future, but I didn’t come up with much. The older I’ve gotten the more I’ve realized how crucial routine and consistency are in life. I used to thrive off of last-minute plans and wingin’ it (TBH I still am guilty of that from time to time), but I’ve realized that when change happens and your entire routine is thrown off (in my case for like…weeks), it can make you feel completely unhinged. When I accepted a new job and switched programs in school all in a matter of two weeks…Lord I don’t even know what I was thinking. I just tried to stay optimistic that it would all work out in my favor.
Basically the point I am trying to make in a very roundabout way, lol, is how important it is to remember that life doesn’t always work out in your favor 100% of the time and that is perfectly okay. I’m absolutely a culprit of the ‘when it rains it pours’ mentality. Meaning, I feel completely deflated when even just one small aspect of my life takes a turn for the worse. I let it affect me negatively and really take down my mood and my happiness. I’ve been struggling trying to remind myself that one bad day doesn’t mean it’s a bad life. It simply means that it’s a bad day and tomorrow begins a new adventure. I’ve been reminding myself day by day that change is good & positive & when one door closes, another opens…as terribly cliche as it sounds!
I ask the same of all you beautiful people reading this: keep your chin up! If you feel sad or rejected or like recent events in your life aren’t quite occurring in your favor, remember that tomorrow always begins a new adventure!
